The City of Vacaville presents Lyle Lovett and his Acoustic Band
A singer, composer, and actor, Lyle Lovett has broadened the definition of American music in a career that spans 14 albums. Coupled with his gift for storytelling, the Texas-based musician fuses elements of country, swing, jazz, folk, gospel, and blues in a convention-defying manner that breaks down barriers.
Whether touring as a ‘Duo’ or with his ‘Acoustic Group’ or his ‘Large Band,’ Lovett’s live performances show not only the breadth of this Texas legend’s deep talents but also the diversity of his influences, making him one of the most compelling and captivating musicians in popular music.
Since his self-titled debut in 1986, Lyle has evolved into one of music’s most vibrant and iconic performers. Among his many accolades, besides the four Grammy Awards, he was given the Americana Music Association’s inaugural Trailblazer Award and was named Texas State Musician.
His works, rich and eclectic, are some of the most beloved of any artist working today.

Serial Killers with Dr. Scott Bonn
The City of Vacaville presents Serial Killers with Dr. Scott Bonn
Spend a deliciously chilling evening with renowned criminologist and serial killer expert, Dr. Scott Bonn, as he takes you inside the minds of the world’s most savage and prolific murderers. In this thrilling 90-minute show, Dr. Bonn reveals the insatiable, psychological hungers that drive the likes of Ted Bundy and Jeffrey Dahmer to kill repeatedly with impunity and no remorse. He explains why the majority of serial killers are either psychopaths or sociopaths, how the two differ, the powerful influences of nature and nurture on the development of fledgling serial killers, and how/why serial killers are able to successfully avoid apprehension, blend into a crowd, and become invisible.
CAUTION: Given the subject, the content in Dr. Bonn’s show is frequently dark and can be disturbing. He incorporates some dark humor which in no way is intended to minimize the seriousness of the topic or the fact that lives have been destroyed by the diabolical killers he discusses throughout the show.

Preservation Hall Jazz Band
Preservation Hall Jazz Band
Heart And Soul Of New Orleans PRESERVATION HALL JAZZ BAND are coming to at the Vacaville Performing Arts Theatre!
The City of Vacaville and Vacaville Performing Arts Theatre announce Preservation Hall Jazz Band Thursday, April 10, at 8pm.
At a moment when musical streams are crossing with unprecedented frequency, it’s crucial to remember that throughout its history, New Orleans has been the point at which sounds and cultures from around the world converge, mingle, and resurface, transformed by the Crescent City’s inimitable spirit and joie de vivre. Nowhere is that idea more vividly embodied than in the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, which has held the torch of New Orleans music aloft for more than 60 years, all the while carrying it enthusiastically forward as a reminder that the history they were founded to preserve is a vibrantly living history.
PHJB marches that tradition forward once again on So It Is. The album redefines what New Orleans music means today by tapping into a sonic continuum that stretches back to the city’s Afro-Cuban roots, through its common ancestry with the Afrobeat of Fela Kuti and the Fire Music of Pharoah Sanders and John Coltrane, and forward to cutting-edge artists with whom the PHJB have shared festival stages from Coachella to Newport, including legends like Stevie Wonder, Elvis Costello and the Grateful Dead and modern giants like Beck, The Foo Fighters, My Morning Jacket, and the Black Keys.
Tickets – $68.25
ALL TICKET SALES ARE FINAL. NO REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES. A $3.25 theatre preservation fee is added to the ticket price. A $5 internet processing fee added to ticket price for tickets purchased online.

Elevate Dance Center ~ STORIES
Elevate Dance Center presents STORIES
Elevate Dance Center is excited to present our 2nd annual production with an original theme: STORIES. Set in a town library, our heroine The Bookworm is always surfing the shelves for a good read, short or long. She loves classics, fantasies, adventures and fairy tales! But the Librarian finds the Bookworm’s energy a little too much for the atmosphere of the neat, orderly library and is always checking the Bookworm’s exuberance. It’s no surprise that when the Bookworm gets lost in a story, the villain always seems to take on a familiar face! STORIES features The Wizard of Oz, Peter Rabbit, The Giving Tree, The Lorax and two original stories: Shipwrecked and The Queen’s Curse.
From Elevate Dance Center ~ “We are so grateful for our status as a Hope Studio for Dancers Against Cancer. This foundation is doing amazing things for dancers, teachers, and dance families who have dealt with these life changing diagnoses and we have seen their generosity first hand with the donations they have made to Miss Rebecca & our DAC angel, Everly. To continue to be a part of what DAC is doing, we have committed to donating $1 from every ticket sold at all Elevate shows to DAC. There will also be a donation box in the lobby at all shows for any additional donations.”

Planning for the show starts in July and from then until Showtime we are building sets, learning songs, adding new props to the show, and always trying to outdo our last performance. From the beginning, Christmas in My HomeTown has been a family affair. My wife Sharron and our son Doug along with his wife Julie help with setting up and decorating the stage as well as preparing the pre-show welcome party for our guests.
Our grandchildren Zach and Aaron along with our adopted Granddaughter Emily Jessen, not only perform in every show they also work side by side with me to bring the best show possible to our community.
From the very first year, Christmas in My Home Town has been a labor of Love for the entire cast and crew.
Helping to keep music programs in place for future generations is our passion!!!!
From our family to yours: Merry Christmas!
